Edinburgh’s ancient walls whisper
through the mist of Arthur’s Seat,
where volcanic stone meets Scottish wind,
and history walks the Royal Mile
in tartan threads and piped refrain.

The Castle crowns the basalt hill,
its battlements a solemn guard
over Princes Street’s bustling cafés,
where haggis steam and shortbread scent
mingle with the scent of rain‑kissed heather.

Close beneath the Scott Monument,
poets pause, their verses caught
in the echo of bagpipes drifting
from Grassmarket’s cobbled squares,
while the Fringe ignites each August night
with laughter, flame, and daring art.

From Dean Village’s quiet waters
to Leith’s salty harbour sighs,
the city pulses—steady, proud,
a living ballad of stone and soul,
where every close and close‑knit lane
sings the timeless song of Scotland.
