Scunthorpe United

poetry

In the steel‑clad town of Scunthorpe,
Where smokestacks whisper through the rain,
The Iron stand on Glanford’s green,
A steady beat of hope and strain.

Their claret and blue, a steadfast hue,
Fly high above the terraced rows,
Each tackle fierce, each pass so true,
A chorus sung where passion glows.

From bygone days of League Two grit
To moments when the crowds erupt,
The United’s heart refuses to quit—
A town’s true love, forever cupped.

So here’s to Scunthorpe United,
May iron will and spirit stay,
Chasing dreams in every bout,
Till victory crowns another day.
