Stockport County

poetry
At Edgeley Park the Hatters take the field,
Blue and white stripes flutter like a flag unfurled,
Each chant a steady drum, each tackle sealed,
A town’s proud heartbeat echoing through the world.
From humble roots in 1883, they’ve chased the dream,
Through promotion’s roar and relegation’s sigh,
The fans—loyal, loud, a steadfast stream—
Sing “We’re the Hatters!” ‘neath a Cheshire sky.
When the ball finds net, the roar swells wide,
A chorus of hope that never wanes,
In every pass, in every stride,
Stockport County lives, and still remains.
