Outdo
Wednesday 28 July 2021
poetry
In the hush of morning, I try to outdo the sunrise,
To paint the sky with colours brighter than any neighbour’s dream,
Each breath a challenge, each step a quiet vow to surpass yesterday,
Yet the wind whispers that true triumph lies not in besting,
But in daring to rise, again and again,
Outdoing not the world, but the self within.
