Swindon Town

poetry
At the County Ground, beneath a Wiltshire sky,
Swindon Town takes the pitch in claret and white,
A steady roar rises from the faithful,
As the Robins chase victory with quiet might.
Each pass is a thread in the town’s fabric,
Woven through rain‑slicked evenings and sunny afternoons,
The echo of boots on turf tells a story
Of grit, of hope, of enduring lunes.
From the terraces’ chant to the tea‑room’s sigh,
The club beats heart‑like, a true British pulse,
In every tackle, every goal, we espy
The spirit that makes Swindon’s soul convulse.
