Sweet

poetry
Sweet is the first note of sunrise, A honeyed sigh on amber light, When laughter melts like caramel And childhood tastes of strawberry‑red.
It lives in tea‑time biscuits, In scones split thick with clotted cream, In the quiet hush of rain on pane, Where sugar dreams are softly spun.
Yet sweet is also memory’s trace, A fleeting kiss on summer’s breeze, The gentle ache of parting words, A promise held in vanilla‑kissed air.
So let us sip this sugary moment, Let it linger on the tongue, For life, though bitter oft, is sweetest When we dare to taste its song.
