Badge

poetry

A tiny disc of metal, bright and keen,
Fastened upon a lapel, a cap, a chest—
It bears the mark of service, of the unseen,
A quiet promise stitched in silver‑threaded vest.

From scout’s first merit to the constable’s gleam,
Each emblem tells a story, bold or meek;
It speaks of honour earned, of duty’s dream,
Of ranks once climbed and challenges we seek.

So wear your badge with pride, let colour show,
Not just a token, but a heart’s own glow.
