Bacon – a rasher of sunrise,
Sizzling gently in the pan,
Each strip a golden whisper of flavour,
Crisp at the edges, tender within.

It drifts on the air like a familiar hymn,
Calling breakfast to the table,
A salty sigh that wakes the senses,
Turning ordinary mornings into feasts.

Whether tucked inside a butty,
Wrapped around a plump sausage,
Or simply enjoyed alone,
Bacon remains Britain’s comforting delight.
