poetry
On the Clyde’s quiet reach, where the waters gleam,
Stands Dumbarton Rock, a guardian of dream.
Its ancient stones recall a regal past,
When kings would walk the battlements, steadfast and vast.
Below, the town unfurls in terraced rows,
Cobbled lanes and cafés where laughter flows.
The football fans in navy blue unite,
Cheering Dumbarton F.C. beneath the fading light.
From the summit’s height, the Highlands whisper low,
While river barges drift, both slow and slow.
In every stone and street, a story’s told—
Dumbarton, proud and timeless, brave and bold.
