Choke

poetry
In the narrow throat of midnight's sigh,
A breath turns lead, a thin refrain,
Where hope once slipped like honeyed rain,
Now catches hard, a stubborn tie.
The world, a ribbon, twists too tight,
Each pulse a drum against the chest,
A silent scream that won't be blessed—
A choking knot in fading light.
Yet even as the air grows thin,
A stubborn seed beneath the grief,
Finds room to swell, to send relief,
And cracks the choke, lets life begin.
