Harrogate Town

In the heart of North Yorkshire’s rolling green,
Harrogate Town sits, a quiet dream.
Its cobbled streets and Georgian grace
Whisper of a bygone, genteel place.

The Stray unfurls like a emerald carpet,
Where joggers, dogs and lovers all have part.
Ancient oaks stand guard over lawns so bright,
While children chase the fleeting summer light.

At the Royal Pump Room, sulphur waters gleam,
A Victorian spa where health once did teem.
Now tea is sipped beneath its glassened dome,
And echoes of decadence softly roam.

The Flower Show bursts in a riot of hue,
Petals parade in scarlet, gold and blue.
Gardeners tend their beds with patient care,
While fragrances drift on the Yorkshire air.

Harrogate’s cafés serve scones with clotted cream,
And talk of cricket, rain and a quiet stream.
Even the market hums a steady tune,
Under the shadow of the old town’s moon.

So here’s to Harrogate, where past and present meet,
In spa‑kissed streets and rhythms of the feet.
A town that wears its charm with modest pride,
A Yorkshire jewel where peace resides.
