poetry

Beneath the city’s humming streets,
where the pavement sighs beneath tired feet,
the world below unfolds in quiet grace,
a hidden realm of stone and time’s embrace.

Down in the tube’s echoing vaults,
where lantern light flickers on rusted walls,
the rumble of lorries fades to a sigh,
and shadows dance where daylight never calls.

Below the river’s slow, steady glide,
where fish glide silently through murky tide,
the deep keeps secrets the surface hides,
in cool, dark chambers where silence resides.

And far beneath the soil’s soft bed,
where roots entwine and ancient bones are laid,
the earth remembers every tread,
holding stories that never fade.
