Northampton Town

Northampton Town, where cobblestones recall
the clang of tram‑bells and the hiss of steam,
a market square where bustling voices call
over stalls of cheese, fresh bread and cream.

The River Nene winds slow and brown,
reflecting spires of St Peter’s ancient stone,
while fans in claret chant their famous crown
at Sixfields, where loyalties are shown.

From the old shoe factories’ quiet rows
to leafy parks where children’s laughter rings,
the town wears history in its clothes
and walks each day with modest, steady wings.

So here’s to Northampton – proud, sincere,
a heart that beats in British, genuine cheer.
