Giddy

poetry

Giddy as a carousel in Battersea Park,
My heart spins round like a teacup ride,
Laughter bubbles up, a fizzy sherbet spark,
And the world tilts, delightfully, wide‑eyed.

I stumble on the pavement, cheeks aflame,
Feet barely kissing the cobbled street,
Each breath a whisper of champagne‑like fame,
As joy erupts, uncontrollably sweet.

In this giddy haze I find my flare,
A British summer’s blush, forever bright.
