Stop the boats

poetry
Against the horizon’s stubborn gleam,
Where gulls wheel over restless seas,
A plea drifts on the salty breeze—
To halt the surge, to still the stream.
No longer shall the tides bear doubt,
Nor wind‑torn craft breach guarded sand;
We raise our watch upon the strand,
And turn the tide, we turn it out.
In harbour lights and quiet shores,
The promise hums in steady tone:
Our waters guard, our hearts atone—
Peace found where restless water roars.
