Dundee

poetry
On the banks of the silvery Tay,
Where Dundee awakes to the morning grey,
The clang of the looms once filled the air,
Jute threads woven with hope and prayer.
Now the V&A glints ’midst glass and steel,
A modern pulse where the old bricks kneel,
The Tay Bridge arches, a steadfast spine,
Linking past triumphs to futures design.
A slice of Dundee cake, rich with spice,
Currants and sultanas, a sweet advice,
While the cry of the gulls over Broughty Ferry,
Paints the harbour in shades of amber and sherry.
From the roar of United’s loyal throng,
To the quiet hum of the Verdant Works song,
Dundee wears its story with pride and grace,
A city of courage, of time and place.
