Inner

In the quiet chambers of the mind,
Where thoughts unwind like soft-spun thread,
A lantern flickers, gentle, kind—
Its glow the secret places fed.

Here feelings nest, both fierce and meek,
A river runs beneath the skin,
Carrying hopes that dare to speak,
And fears that linger, thin within.

We walk the world with outward strides,
Yet inward beats a steady drum,
A pulse that guides, that never hides,
The quiet compass of our hum.

So listen close when silence sighs,
To the whisper that resides inside—
The truest self, where virtue lies,
The inner light that won’t subside.
