Donut

poetry
Round and golden, a doughnut delight,
Fresh‑fried in the bakery’s warm light,
Its sugary glaze catches the sun,
A sweet, soft spiral, bite after bite.
From jam‑filled centres to chocolate‑kissed tops,
Each ring a tiny, comforting hop,
With a cup of tea, steaming and brown,
It’s the perfect treat when wanderlust’s found.
So here’s to the humble, ring‑shaped cheer,
A British favourite, year after year,
In every crumb, a whisper of home,
The doughnut—simple, yet never alone.
