Coventry City

Ricoh Arena under a November sky, Concrete terraces, damp and grey, Scarves pulled tight as clouds drift low, Waiting for the Sky Blue way.

The whistle blows, a familiar sound, Echoes of '87 in the air, Houchen's leap, that bouncing ball, Wembley's roar beyond compare.

Now rain may slick the touchline lone, The table reads a tougher test, Yet still the Bluebirds' chorus rings, A promise in each fan's chest.

From bombed-out streets to rebuilding years, This city knows the fight, the grit, We'll keep on singing, loud and proud, Through every triumph, every hit.

No quiet corners, no surrendered ground, Just claret and blue in the fibre deep, Coventry City, fight for us, While promises we guard and keep.
