poetry
In the hush of ink‑stained pages,
a whisper gathers in inverted commas—
a quotation, a borrowed breath,
held tenderly between two slim, upright marks.
We lift a line from Shakespeare’s glow,
from Austen’s wit, from Keats’ soft sigh,
and tuck it close, a bright‑tinged fragment,
to colour our own thoughts with someone else’s sky.
Each quote is a lantern, small yet sure,
casting familiar light on fresh‑made night;
it bridges ages, joins the thinker’s lure
with the listener’s ear, a quiet delight.
So let us speak in others’ careful tone,
and find, within their words, our own.
