Sleep

poetry

In the hush of night the world draws near,
A soft, dark blanket pulls us dear.
Eyes grow heavy, thoughts unwind,
As sighs of day relinquish mind.

Moonlight slips through curtained seams,
Silver threads that stitch our dreams.
Breathing slows, a quiet tide,
While shadows dance where hopes reside.

Here in slumber’s gentle cradle,
Time unwinds its restless fable.
Morning waits with pale‑coloured light,
But for now we yield to sleep’s sweet night.
