poetry
A chuckle bubbles in the tea‑time air,
A giggle twirls like a scone on a plate.
We trade our worries for a daft affair,
Where puns are buttered spreads we can’t abate.
The cat in socks does a clumsy jig,
While Uncle Bob attempts a wink,
His moustache wiggles like a wiggly pig,
And we all snort, unable to think.
Laughter’s the jam upon our daily toast,
A sunny spell that lingers long,
In Britain’s mist we raise a roast,
To humour – the heart’s merry song.
