Flash
In an instant the heavens split,
A cerulean flare that cleaves the dark,
Streetlamps shudder, their amber sparks
Dance to the rhythm of a sudden lit.
A crowd erupts, a flash of colour,
Feet pattering on the wet pavement,
Laughter rings, a fleeting moment’s treasure,
Then silence falls, the night content.
Memory holds that brilliant gleam,
A torch of joy that never wanes.
