Flare

poetry
A sudden flare across the night, A ruby tongue that licks the dark, It sputters, bright, then fades to light, A fleeting spark that leaves its mark.
In quiet fields the bonfires gleam, Their crackling song a warm embrace, Each ember sighs a muted dream, Reflected in each upturned face.
A signal flare, a scarlet cry, Rises above the restless sea, A beacon calling, “Here am I!” Guiding lost hearts back to safety.
So let the flare, in fire or feeling, Teach us that even briefest blaze Can carve a path through doubt’s deep ceiling, And turn the ordinary to blaze.
