Nutty

In the quiet orchard’s amber glow,
Where squirrels scamper and breezes blow,
The trees unfurl their rugged crowns,
Bearing secrets in brown‑bound rounds.

A walnut’s shell, a rugged hide,
Holds a kernel sweet, buttery‑sliced—
Crisp as autumn’s first crisp leaf,
A bite that whispers, soft relief.

Peanuts nestle in earthy beds,
Their humble pods like whispered threads,
Roasted till they sigh and crack,
Turning salty dreams to snack.

Hazel‑brown and chestnut‑deep,
Each nut a story, bold and steep—
From festive tarts to pudding’s swirl,
They nuttily entwine the world.

So raise a cup of tea, dear friend,
Let nutty notes on taste buds blend—
For in each crunch, a merry jest,
A British bite, simply the best.
